Backup on-premise to S3 AWS

Post by hernanlfantoni »

Hello everyone! This is my first query on the forum. I have to send the backups stored in my on-premise repositories to a Bucket S3. What is the recommended way?.

1) I need to add Amazon S3 as an object Storage Repository https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=100

2) Then I need to create a Backup copy
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=100

I have 4 Windows repositories in differents networks. Can you help me?.

Hello,
and welcome to the forums.

I moved your question from the "Veeam Backup for AWS" to the "Veeam Backup & Replication" forum as I believe that you are using "Veeam Backup and Replication."

1) correct
2) no, you don't need a backup copy job. You need to add the S3 object storage to a scale out repository and configure capacity tier. I guess you like to copy: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=100

If you have normal repositories, you need to change them to scale-out-repositories.

Best regards,
Hannes
