Copy Backup Jobs to Object Storage

Hi,

We have a VM which is about 20TB in total size that we backed-up to a SOBR. We selected the option to "Copy backups to object storage as soon as they are created", but somehow it keeps failing to off-load to the object storage. The main backup jobs went successful but the off-load job will always fail. We also set a backup window for the SOBR.

1. How does the offloading to object storage work?
2. Will the copy to object storage catches up if the prior offload jobs failed?
3. How can we move or copy the backed-up data manually to the cloud object storage?
4. Will the offload also do full and incremental?

Hi Hannes,

The reason for the failed upload is because the session reaches the outside of the backup/upload window, so hence it stop and failed. From the FAQ looks like it will catches up in the next upload run.

Then, the situation is expected: the configured backup window stops offload activity.

Since offload activity always fails, it seems that current setup does not allow to process the amount of generated data within the allowed time period, so you might consider increasing backup window or bandwidth. Or you can wait for some time and see whether the issue goes away - chances are, offload fails, because right now it has too many restore points to process (you've just enabled copy mode and it tries to copy all of the restore points you currently have), but eventually this number will decrease and offload process will be finishing on time.

Hi,
I changed the Backup Window to run all the time but the initial offload session is stuck @ 0% for 5 days now. Any idea and how can we make it moving? The VM is about 20TB. This VM is very dynamic so a lot of changes.
