Feature request -- Designate vPower NFS server

Post by TitaniumCoder477 »

When recovering a large, geo-distributed client from S3-compatible storage, it is not convenient to have to stand up multiple backup servers to facilitate IRs and migrations. It is far more effective to stand up a single backup server with proxies in various locations. They can already be designated as gateways for the respective S3-compatible storage buckets. I would like to also see the ability to assign the vPower NFS service/role to them. I do not like the "hidden SOBR" and "assumed backup server as vPower NFS server". That created a major bottleneck until I realized data was going over the VPN. Only when I called support did I find out about the "hidden" operation and assumptions the software was making and then had to setup two backup servers since there was no way to overcome this.

Hello,
each object storage bucket has its own mount server in V12. The mount server can be enabled for vPower NFS.

Is that what you are asking for?

Best regards,
