Replacing capacity tier with a new object storage

Post by barrett27 »

Hi,
I have a scale out with both performance and capacity tier enabled.

I have issues with the offload of some VM backups so I want to make an attempt replacing the S3 bucket with a new one.
I don't need to move backups between buckets at this time, but I want to offload from scratch the backups that are on the performance tier.

How should I proceed? Maybe I need to remove from the configuration the object storage backups before replacing the object storage with a new one?

Thanks

Hi db

Have you tried to find out the root cause with a support case before doing this procedure?

To replace your old bucket with a new empty one, please follow those steps:
1) Add a new bucket as object storage in Veeam
2) Replace the old bucket in the SOBR-capacity tier configuration with the new bucket
3) Wait for the offload to happen or start the tiering job manually.
You can remove the old bucket from the configuration after you have replaced the bucket in the SOBR.

Hi Fabian,
I tried opening a support case and I've been suggested to start with a new bucket
The number of the case is 05919236

Thank you for the help
