Trying to send backups to Wasabi but not sure if I'm doing this correctly

Post by lostbackups »

I already have a Veeam B&R setup with 3-2-1 backups. My Veeam server is also the local storage repo. I currently have one CSP that I copy backups to via Cloud Connect. I'm looking at replacing that with Wasabi (I was told by someone else to use SOBR). So I am following this guide: https://wasabi-support.zendesk.com/hc/e ... th-Wasabi- but the issue is I don't want to add another local repository since I already have one... unless I am misunderstanding something.

on second thought... maybe I am an idiot. I re-read the instructions and the performance tier storage bit makes sense now... I will add that and see if I can get it working.

Yeah just add your current repo to a SOBR then you can add Wasabi as Capacity Tier for offloading.

Not a problem. Just create a new Scale-Out repository and then select your current standard repository to add to it. The jobs going to your standard repo should remap to the newly created SOBR. Then once that is done you add the Wasabi S3 repository and then edit the SOBR to add this as the capacity tier piece. Hopefully, that makes sense. Also, see here - https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backu ... ml?ver=110
