Any backup job limitation in the community edition?

Post by akwete » Feb 07, 2019 4:36 am

Are there any limitations to the number of backup jobs per agent when using VBR 9.5 u4 CE?

Hello,

the Community Edition is a regular Standard Edition for 10 instances with no limitations whatsoever.

Best regards,
Hannes

Thanks for the feedback. However, I need some clarification on the statement below from the Veeam Agent for Windows User Guide. Does this restriction apply to backup jobs managed by the free edition of the agent or does it include jobs for agents managed by VBR CE?

"Depending on the product edition, you can configure one or more backup jobs in Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows:

For the Free product edition, you can configure one backup job only.

For the Workstation product edition, you can configure an unlimited number of backup jobs targeted at a Veeam Cloud Connect repository plus one backup job targeted at any other supported backup location (local or removable computer drive, network shared folder, Veeam backup repository or Microsoft OneDrive).

For the Server product edition, you can configure an unlimited number of backup jobs targeted at any supported backup location"

Hello,

as your quote is from the general "Veeam Agent for Windows guide", it does not really apply here. The agent management guide of Veeam Backup & Replication is what you need to refer to.

There is no option for "free agents" as soon as you start with central management in "standard edition" (where community edition is a limited to 10 instances standard edition).

Best regards,
Hannes
