VSS Writer Exchange 2010

Post by JohnGG »

Gday people, im noticing an issue when the Exchange server starts backing up.
It throws an event id error:9782 MXEchangeIS, now this happens as soon as the Veeam agent starts running im assuming because the event log times and the veeam log has about a 30 second difference.
Veeam start time for Exchange(3:03:39 AM) Event trigger time(3:04:31 AM).
Server is:Exchange 2010 SP1
And Veeam:Veeam Backup & Replication 7.0.0.839, anyone else seeing this issue?

When i run" vssadmin list writers" i get no errors.
Cheers JG.

Can you tell me whether Application Aware Image Processing is enabled? More specifically, log truncation option? Thanks.

Sorry for not getting back but unticking that seemed to fix the problem. Should this be ticked for exchange 2010?

Basically, it is always recommended to enable application-aware image processing whenever you back up VMs running Exchange, to provide transactionally consistent backup.

So, was or wasn't log truncation option enabled? If it was not, then, the situation looks expected, as the said error just notifies you that no log files were truncated for this database. Thanks.
