Veeam 8 Replication Jobs
I have just upgraded Veeam to V8. I have some Hyper-V replication jobs setup and notice they are now referred to as "Legacy".
I can create new jobs which are the latest version, however, this appears to want to do a full replication of all VHDs, rather than just replicate changes. Is there a way to "upgrade" jobs from V7 to V8 without having to re-replicate everything?

Re: Veeam 8 Replication Jobs
James, there's actually no need to re-create jobs anew. You can continue using your existing replication jobs without any issues. Replication jobs newly created on v8 will store restore points as VM checkpoints, which allows for faster recovery to any replica restore point, better reliability and the ability to power on any required restore point manually if required. However jobs created in previous versions can still be utilized.
If you still want to "upgrade" replication jobs to the new format, you can re-create them and map to existing replica VMs, to avoid transfer of full VM data.

Hi, thanks for the response.
Other than the storing restore points as checkpoints, are there any other advantages to the new version replication jobs?

Yes, new replication jobs allow to use backup files as a source for replication jobs (replication from backup).

Hi. Ok, so how would I re-create jobs and map them to existing replicas to prevent full transfer of VM data?

[MERGED] Legacy replication efter upgrade from V7 to V8
Hello,
I have notice that replication is now in legacy mode (legacy replication)? What is that mean? I have upgraded Veeam from v7 to v8.

Re: Veeam 8 Replication Jobs
Replication jobs newly created in Veeam B&R v8 have new format (see above for details), so jobs created in previous versions are considered legacy.
