Feature Request - Backup History Log

Post by PureNinja »

Would be nice if backup information went back at least as far back as the retention period. Currently only 7 entries are viewable on the "Status" tab. This can easily be sucked up in a single day if consecutive backup attempts fail or if you run multiple backups in a day.

Raymond,
Thank you. By the way, we are going to merge all job retries into the single status line, so unsuccessful backup attempts would not spoil the status view.

Raymond,

Thanks for your feedback. As Dmitry already said, we will make sure that multiple unsuccessful attempts won't spoil the view but I assume that you want something more also. For example, if you have 14 days of retention, then you would want to see them all. For our future reference, if we would stay with the same view we have today, how would you like to see the "previous" information. A html page with the information, some lines that show success or not + the data, log files...

The feedback would be very appreciated

I was thinking a simple date range selector would do. If we could choose the date, or date range, and given the ability to choose a report type, "ALL", "Succeeded", "Errors", "Failed", Etc... from a dropdown list. Maybe in the configuration settings we could also set the reporting logs retention period to a number of days, weeks, or months that you would like and have the option to also select "Automatic", which will keep the backup logs associated with all backups stored on a backup target. When a backup is deleted from a backup target the logs would also be automatically purged for the deleted backups. Also, the ability to print and email the reports and possibly schedule a report to be run periodically on a specified day, or number of days passed, and emailed automatically. -Hope this helps a little
