Pros & Cons using TAPE backup media with Veeam

We are planning to use TAPES as our backup storage media for our VMs.

Does Veeam work well with TAPES ?

Any pros & cons of using tapes as backup media with Veeam ( sorry we cannot use disk as backup media due to corporate IT policy)

So you are saying Veeam cannot backup directly to a TAPE drive. But we need to use the following steps

1) Backup to DISK
2) Copy DISK backups to TAPE

Now 2nd step above will Veeam do for us or we have to use some 3rd party software to copy disk backups to tapes ?

You have to create both backup job (that will create a disk to disk backup) and tape job (that will archive resulting backups to tapes). Both jobs are available in Veeam Backup and Replication. Thanks.

If you just want to backup to tape, without keeping data on disk storage – you can set a short retention for backup to disk job (for example one day).
