Internet Backup

Post by TSteege »

We were under the impression that backups with this product could be done over the Internet without having to connect via VPN.

Is this possible? Other than opening ports (which we have done), what in the configuration will make this happen.

Thank You

Hello Tom,
What are you going to use as a target repository?

Tom,

No you can't. What you can do is a backup to a Veeam Backup & Replication repository and frpm there use a service provider with cloud connect but I assume that is not what you are looking for...

Well, that pretty much answers my question.

Via a VPN connection I can backup to a SMB share.

Otherwise, no go.

That's too bad. It is dog A$$ slow via VPN.

Thanks, I will try to convince our client to continue to use with the drawbacks.
