Hi
I have a replication job for a Linux machine with 7 Restore Point kept. (ESX 5.5)
At the moment I need to retrieve the latest restore point I have (7th).
But I want to retrieve the VM and start it with a different name and IP.
I want to do this without jeopardizing the source vm, so I guess the failover options are out of the question.
How can I do it?
As a restore job, this scenario is only possible from a backup, not from a replica I think.
Any other way around?
Like for instance, start the replica VM on that specific RP/snapshot without messing with the source machine

Re: Restore VM from Replica?
What is the purpose of starting this VM? Do you need to keep it permanently or just check/restore something and switch it then back? You could either manually change the network settings on the replica VM via vSphere Client and start the VM then or use SureReplica to start VM in the isolated environment.
