Receiving snmp trap if backup fails

Post by mriesenb »

Hello,

Veeam is only sending out snmp traps if the backup is succesful, but I want to be notified through snmp trap if the backup fails.

How to achieve this?

Cheers, Michael

Hi Michael,

Veeam SNMP traps should also notify you about warning and error VM backup states, there is no extra setting you should enable to start receiving these traps.

Thanks.

Hi,

Still I'm not getting them. I've setup 2 jobs, one will fail because of incorrect credentials, the other one will succeed by backing up one vm. Both have exactly the same notification settings, but my linux snmptrapd only receives messages after the successful job finished.

How to troubleshoot this?

Could you please tell me what version of Veeam B&R are you currently using? If you need an assistance with troubleshooting this issue further, please contact our technical team and let them review your debug logs. Thanks!
