Failed to open management RPC connection

For what it's worth, I was getting this same error and my issue turned out to be the fact that I have a need for 2 networks, and the host file was setting the IP address of the endpoint machine to the IP address for the wrong network (the network that didn't have the backup server on it). I commented out the IP assignment in the host file and Endpoint was able to successfully backup the machine. Not sure yet if there is another way around this issue at this point, but could be something to look at if you're getting this error and utilize multiple networks on a machine.
