is it possible to restore a archived Veeam backup of a virtual machine (ESX 5.1) to another platform like ESX 5.5 or ESX 6.0 ?
Is there a way to test this before upgrading to a higher version of vSphere or should it just work

Yep, it is, as long as target host supports hardware version of backed up VM.is it possible to restore a archived Veeam backup of a virtual machine (ESX 5.1) to another platform like ESX 5.5 or ESX 6.0 ?
