SureReplica at DR site - network setup questions

Post by romwarrior »

Trying to get SureReplica going at the DR site. A bit confused on the Virtual Lab set up. Here is my setup:

Production Network IP = 10.10.1.xx

DR Site Network IP = 10.10.3.xx

Veeam server and replicas are all at DR site. The SureBackup job succeeds at heartbeat, but fails at the ping test. I assume this is due to incorrect network set up on the virtual lab due to different subnets. All my VM's will have static IP's from the production network. Wondering what would be the proper VL setup for this?

Since SureReplica does not use ReIP rules defined in replica job, you should set up your virtual lab to map your production network range (10.10.1.xx) into some isolated network (any not used range, for example 10.10.10.xx).
That can be done at Network Settings step of virtual lab wizard.

[MERGED] surereplica ping test

Post by balma01 »

Hi,
I'm testing a surereplica and I do not understand why the ping test fails. The IP of the VM is masked as requested in my vlab setup but the ping test fails.
Please take note that In my replica job I asked to remap the network of the replicated VM.

SureReplica does not support re-IP, re-IP rules are applied during failover/failback only.
