Hi I am Tandberg Data employee and now having test with your V9 and seeding function with our RDX QuikStation4. And I tried to seed backup from RDX drive with seeding function like following steps.
-Backup Vm data VM1 to QS slot#1 rotated repocitory thru V9 server proxy.
-Make another rotated repository on QS4 Slot#3 on mount server.
-Run initial seed replicate job use QS4 stot#3 repository.
The Job above was failed. Because Backup Data on Stlot#3 have not cataloged.
So, I tried to rescan Slot#3 Repository. But, Rescan button gray out and I cannot push it.
I changed QS Slot#3 repository as normal none-rotated repository after that I can push rescan button and seed replication starts normally.
Does it mean the RDX user want to repository use the rotated backup target after seeding, repository re-configuration is required?

Re: Rotated media and seeding (Rescan)
Hi,
[MODERATOR UPDATE]: The information above is wrong as the mentioned rescan workaround might cause the same problem as Import from rotated media. Case #01959565
Thank you.
That's by design. You cannot rescan rotated drive backed repository.I tried to rescan Slot#3 Repository. But, Rescan button gray out and I cannot push it.

Yes. Also you can automate this process by using pre/post-job scripts and PowerShell. If you need assistance with changing repository settings via PowerShell please open a separate thread on a PowerShell sub-forum.Does it mean the RDX user want to repository use the rotated backup target after seeding, repository re-configuration is required?

Re: Rotated media and seeding (Rescan)
I tried repository scan like follow at powershell script and it works even it set as a "Rotated hard drives".
Get-VBRBackupRepository - Name "<Repository Name>" | Rescan-VBREntity
Thank you very much for advise. I found easy work around.
