Windows XP

Post by abacher »

Are there any plans to make endpoint backup compatible with XP?
We have several old 3rd party production machines that we would like to backup before they die. Converting them to a VM isn't an option due to some cable connections that aren't available on our TCs.
Has anybody else run into this sort of issue? Have you been able to find a successful solution?

Hi Adam, unfortunately, Windows XP support is not coming.

OK, Thanks! I might have to look at Acronis for these machines.

I have installed the free version of Iperius backup on my few remaining XP machines. Until I can virtualize them or replace the hardware that relies on them, this is my best option. Might want to test it out.

[MERGED] [ Feature Request ] - Support for Windows XP ?

Post by matni »

Hello Veeam,

I'm working at a university and would like to do full image backup of computers. Some of the computers are running Windows XP, as they are connected to special research equipment that cannot work on Windows 7/8/10.
I imagine that we are not the only ones that are running such setup.
Would it be possible to add support for Windows XP ?

Thanks for your FR, but support for Windows XP is not planned. As a workaround try to convert these computers to VMs, and then use VM-image level backup to achieve your goal.
