v9 The media is write protected (it's not) - job just fails

Post by rreed »

Feature request, I suppose, is that if a library encounters a write protected tape (even though the tape is not, but that's another conversation), that it please try another tape rather than just bombing out and giving up right there please? I loaded a pile of fresh new tapes yesterday, it has plenty from which to choose rather than just saying sorry I can't on this one tape.

Hello Rreed,
Where did you load the fresh new tapes? To the Free Media Pool?

Yes, once they were loaded and the library scanned, I moved my new tapes into the Free pool. Confirmed all my new tapes are in the Free pool. My created pools are set to pull from Free when more tapes are required.

If you have the "Add tapes from Free media pool automatically when more tapes are required" option enabled, tapes from the Free Media Pool should be used, otherwise it`s a bug and you need to contact our support team.
Thanks!
