SQL Server - Any way to force transaction log backups?

Post by VanillaMastermind »

Is there a way to force a manual backup of SQL Server transaction logs only WITHOUT running the entire Veeam job, which will run a FULL database backup?

Well you can configure SQL transaction log backup within the VM's properties of Application Aware Image Processing. I guess you could sort of manually kick this off by editing the backup job to turn this on and off, or by disabling/enabling the backup job itself if this feature is enabled within the job.

As Joe mentions disabling/enable the job - I use that method to trigger log backups to start. It works - but it would be nice to be able to trigger it for a certain vm within a job. The way to disable/enable starts log backups for all the vm's in the job.
