Hi All.
I have all my vms on server1 and backed up Nas Box.
I have endpoint also installed on server 2 that has hyper V also.
When you try to restore a vm from the nasbox that you backed up from server1
Then on server 2 using endpoint do you need to create a vm to restore on to?
i.e
The vm i am trying to restore on my test server is call vmtest1 so i created a vm called vmtest1 before i perform the restore??
Thanks in advance for your help
Marcus

Hi Marcus,
I am not sure I follow. You want to restore a physical server to a vm, right?

HI Guys,
When you are using veeam endpoint to restore a entire VM do you restore the backup vbm, vbx or vib file?
Also I have backed up all my vm to a nass box.
Now I want to restore to a hyper v machine on another server.
1. Do i need to create a new VM for this restore?
Thanks for all your help

Re: Veeam Restores.
When you are performing a bare metal recovery to a VM you have to create a VM first (or using existing one) with enough disk space to allocate the volume from the backup.

[MERGED] VM Restore
Hi,
I have a virtual machine from server 1 backed up to a nas storage.
I want to restore the entire VM to my new server(2)
I have endpoint installed on new server(2).
Do I need to create a new VM to restore the backup of the entire VM on to or just use an existing VM?
Thanks in advance for your help

Hi Marcus,
May I ask, why you keep repeating the question that was previously answered in this thread? Were you able to test the proposed solution? Do you need any additional clarification? Thanks.
