Exchange U-AIR Wizard

Post by jftuga »

I am really excited about the product. I want to test this beta program. Is there any docuemtation?

When I run a new Exchange Lab, after I enter in the restore mode, domain, and mailbox, I get a"403 Forbidden" error when going from the Mailbox to the Restore Point in the wizard.

I am running this as an Administrator who is in the Exchange Organizational Admins group. Our Exchange server is 2007.

Please advise.

Thanks,
-John

OK, devs and myself were mostly testing this wizard on clean Exchange 2003 installs. QC is only starting the tests on other platforms - we did not have enough QC resources before due to v5 having so many features, thus we released it only as beta with v5... but now with v5 finally out this will get proper testing and released promptly.

Anyway, I will get back to you when I know more, meanwhile you can try to Google for webdav 403 forbidden and see if any possible reason may apply to you.

Does anyone have time to run a packet sniffer to see what ports are being used by the uAIR program when it tries to connect to Exchange? I have a feeling it is try to connect to a port the Exchange is not listening on (based on reading up on webdav 403 forbidden).

Also Exchange 2007? I have already asked QC to deploy this one first, since I know for sure from my own lab that Exchange 2003 does not have this problem ;)

Exchange 2010 is not supported in this beta as per release notes, and it looks like there is some issue slipped into the beta build around Exchange 2007 support (again, so far this beta code was mostly tested on Exchange 2003). For those who want to test the code and submit feedback, I recommend using Exchange 2003 for testing of this beta code, until we have newer build.

So what's later this month? Our Inside sales rep (Veeam) told us that this feature was available, so we represented it to the client that way. Now, come to find out that this feature is NOT fully functional and there seems to be no way to obtain support. Is there a workaround? If I can't demonstrate Exchange mailbox recovery, I suspect the sale will be lost.
