Secondary site repository

Post by Lyonel »

I have 2 2008 servers dedicaded file sharing in 2 away sites.
With a single dedup, less datas were transfered on the network and stocked on the repository.

Lyonel,

What type of repository are you using in conjunction with Veeam B&R?

Actually our infrastructure in headquarter is in Beta but we are buying a Synology rackstation.

In away sites, endpoint agents are in solo , not plug with the B&R. Maybe in the future i download vbk's file to make incremental backup in the HQ too.

Indeed, mapping is supported. Another option might be to setup a local repository and add it to the VBR. Traffic flows directly to the repository in case of local gateway server.

Yes, that should work. By the way, email reporting can be configured locally on VEB or globally via VBR.

Lyonel,

What type of repository you've setup at secondary site?

P.S. Moved our discussion to the separate forum's thread.

it's an usb disk

on B&R server i created a repository like that:

\\srv-awaysite\f$

f is the letter for the usb disk

So after that, i change backup setup from local storage to B&R repo

Check your repository gateway properties in VBR. For CIFS the default gateway is VBR and you need to change it to any secondary site server.

ok it's done.

On the edit backup, i must change the mount server by the local one for futures files restores stay in the away site, isn't it?
And the vpower NFS must stay enabled?

vPower NFS Service is not required for VEB.
