Veeam 9.5 and vCenter Appliance 6.0

Post by kslaught21 »

Is there any official documentation somewhere that mentions that vCenter Appliance 6.0 is supported by Veeam B&R 9.5? I need to provide this to justify using the appliance in our environment as opposed to a Windows vCenter server. Did not see any mention of this in the 9.5 release notes. Thanks!

In general, the Windows "service" and the VCA are interchangeable as far as external APIs go -- I've never had a problem using the appliance (in fact, it's so much easier to maintain than a Windows box)

From the standpoint of VMWare 6.5, they basically states that VCA is just as capable as the Windows vCenter, and kind of indicate the Windows vCenter will go away at some point.

Correct, and we do not differentiate the platform in our system requirements, since both are supported.
