some questions(free/paid versions and backup to cloud)

Post by Jaques(JC) »

Hi there,

We are a Silver partner with cloud connect services, Please explain the following:

My understanding is that endpoint backup is now agent for windows?
The download link for windows agent doesn't work and no download starts
Based on the screenshots, the ability to backup directly into cloud repository is only available in the workstation/server (paid) versions of the Agent for windows, is this correct?
How can I get my hands on the full version then for testing/preparation?

Could you try another browser to download it as well as block any adblockers like ublock ?

Correct, this is not possible in the free edition.

The public beta comes with all three flavours so you can test the possibilities/features for each version.

at this link there is a matrix with the full feature breakdown: https://www.veeam.com/blog/veeam-agent- ... lable.html

We use LabTech to manage all client devices.

Currently, Veeam and LabTech offers a free plugin to manage PAID FOR veeam products (Veeam backup and recovery). Veeam and LabTech also offers a PAID FOR plugin to manage free Veeam products (Veeam endpoint).

Since the Veeam agent for Windows is a PAID FOR product based on Veeam Endpoint which is free, will there be a cost to manage the the Veeam agent for Windows using a LabTech plugin and when will this functionality be available?

Thanks,

-Will

Hi Will,

All our plug-ins are free, but you need to have a paid edition of the product you want manage. This will remain the same when we release the plug-in to manage VAW. The same refers to Veeam Availability Console (VAC), this platform is free, but you will need to license VAW/VBR that are going to be managed by VAC.

Thanks!
