I'm unable to delete replica vm from disk

I've been testing Veeam Backup and Replication. One of the test replicas I did will not let me delete it from disk. It is inside the VeeamBackup folder in created on one of my datastores. The error say it Cannot dlete file [datastore5] VeeamBackup/nameofvm(-vm-21331).

Two things I can think of:

1.) make sure the user account your using to perform the deletion has appropriate permissions
2.) make sure the replication job is turned off in Veeam so that the files aren't locked out

I'm having the same problems. I've disabled the jobs, made sure no processes are running that could be tying them up, restarted the Veeam Server, tried deleting them manually through vCenter and it still says the files can't be deleted.

Hello Dale,

Could you tell me if you're replicating to full blown ESX host or not? Have you checked any processes on that host that might be locking the files?

I'm replicating to a full blown ESX host. I've checked the files and nothing is listed as using them but it still won't allow me to delete them

Dale, you may also try restarting host's management agents:

Dale, in this case, I think the best way would be to contact our support team and ask for assistance.

We ended up having to reboot the DR site ESX host to fix the problem
