Backup copy GFS : what's the best setting for me ?

Hi,

i configure a standart backup jobs with 1 bckup per day and 30 day retention

now I try to configure a backup copy with GFS rules : copy each month of active year, and archive all years (backup in december).

what's the best setting for me ?

Hi markham89,
so the plan is to keep monthly backups or yearly ones?
You may set weekly and quarterly retention = 0, monthly = 12, yearly = 10 to have backup of each month and yearly backups for 10 years.

why restore point is forced to 2 minimum ?

Because there has to be a chain to leverage incremental backups.

thx i try your settings and my backup copy not semms to works i ve this message :

Some VMs were not processed during the copy interval
Initial copy did not complete, and will resume on the next copy interval

why ? what's the problem ?

Backup copy job fails to process generated changes within allocated sync interval. Consider increasing the interval, if you get the warning regularly. Thanks.
