Delete backup copy jobs

Hi.

I have misconfigured a backup copy job.
I would like to reuse the name - so the question is - can I delete the job, and still keep the data from the backup copy job on disk for restore?
Or will the deleting of the backup copy job make the backuped data useless?

Removing backup job leaves backups intact, so no issues with the described scenario. Thanks.
