[Feature request] Retention Policy for Deleted VMs

Post by GabesVirtualWorld »

Hi
Currently the "Retention Policy for Deleted VMs" is a job setting. But our customers have a lot of different requests when removing VMs. I often get a list to remove 10 VMs and some with 14 days, some with 30 days and some with 1 year retention. Would be great if there was a popup when removing a single VM that would then ask how long the retention would be. The job setting isn't working for us.

As you know, we do not simply take and implement every feature request we collect here and from other sources, but rather put them in the queue, where they are prioritized based on demand and value to the product. So no comments on the ETA. (and sorry for the formal answer ;) )

Sounds like a useful request, +1 from me.

Interested about the v10 archive tier feature, perhaps there could be integration with that.
TBH - I lose track of the deleted VMs in our backup files. Maybe there's a Veeam One report for them ...

There is Orphaned VMs report which discovers VMs that are present in existing backup files, but are missing in backup, replication or backup to tape jobs.
And VMs Growth report showing VMs added and removed from infrastructure.
Thanks!
