O365 questions

Post by Cragdoo »

Apologies if this kind of information is readily available, but I've just been handed a load of questions from our business strategy team about O365 and very little time to answer them

• Can we enable hard limits or are they there by default?
o What happens when they use all their allocated space
o What happens when they try to backup more users than they have licenses for
o How do we allocate the space?
 Is the space pooled between all accounts
 or do we assign to specific users?
o When they max users or storage how will we know?
• What does the license they get access to now give them in the future?
o Will the same license cover Teams and Sharepoint or will they be separate licenses for each?

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Hey Craig,

I hope I have understood all of them correctly

There is no hard limit besides the limit of a single repository. Because it is a jet blue database the limit is 64 TB per DB (But you can add multiple repositories per server/ proxy)
If they try to backup more users than they have licenses, they enter into a grace period. All details of that grace period, depending on the license type are found in our helpcenter documentation

What do you mean by pooled between the accounts? If you are looking into multi-tenancy as a service provider, then you create a repository (or more) per tenant keeping them separate

License today is for email, but will give access to SharePoint and OneDrive backup in the future

Cheers
Mike

No comment on any ETA :-)

But I am always eager to hear suggestions and feedback (as you know :-))
