wan accelerator on VM Azure on local disk

Post by F.Maesta »

Hi All,
This is my first post on this community.

I will install a Veeam Server on VM in my azure Subscription, I will use it for backup copy target (backup off site).

In the Azure VM there a local disk temporary, if the VM migrate to another host I will miss this disk and all data.
I would like use this disk for wan accelerator cache path because it is a SSD disk and it is most faster to Standard Data disk.

My question is the following:

What's appen if the VM migrate to another host and I miss the cache path for some time?

Hi and welcome to the community.

First of all, you won't benefit much from using SSD for WANAccelerator, regular HDD is enough for cache.
if the VM migrate to another host I will miss this disk and all data.
Coud you elaborate on that? Do you mean that migration of an Azure VM with SSD storage causes loss of data located on the SSD?

If global cache folder is unavalaiable when backup copy job starts then the job will fail. If for some reason the cache is gone forever then you can repopulate it.

Thanks
