I think its very easy to allow users to add manual exception days.
first we dont ne predefined dates. just let us add manually all holidays per year by hand..
would be better than nothing..

I have just joined this forum to ask where the option was to manually set specific date exclusions to stop tape backups running (as I did in Backup Exec until we changed to Veeam this year) and found this thread (started in 2011….). I can’t believe that such an obvious requirement is still missing (this thread started in 2011!). I am on leave prior to the Christmas break and while I have staff to help change tapes there are a few dates between Christmas and New Year when I need to exclude the tape backups from running. Trying to run Powershell scripts and so on isn’t really a sensible option. If this facility has been added since the last post (June 2019) can someone please tell me where it is?

We still need the feature to exclude certain days from backup and tape-job.
It would be great if you could also implement an import-feature for (MS Outlook) holiday-files.

To fix this big issue earlier i suggest veeam shoul implement a quick hack first.

holidays should be put in manually by the user. the backupsoftware will obey these dates as exclusion dates.
no need for veeam to know if day is holiday or not. just give the user an option to set the dates.
that would help much!

Well a decade has gone by - this functionality still appears to be MIA. Seriously it would be useful especially for MSPs providing BaaS, particularly if an exclusion list can be pushed out to tenants. this would save the tech assigned to backup monitoring from freaking out the day after a public holiday

You cannot push it further, the system works a bit differently: the priority is set according to the value of the feature, number of requests, relation to other pending features, availability of workarounds, etc.

For now you can leverage the workarounds given in this thread.

Maybe we have to refine this request:

Please add just an exception list. this is just a minute task for your developers.
we dont need all holidays... just an option to exclude some dates like 01.01.2023 in our backups.

so we can enter all holidays manually!

To clarify: we dont expect, that veeam adds the exception holiday dates.
they just should have an option, where we can (for tape jobs) enter dates, where the job is not run like dont run on 01.01.2025
so we would enter the all dates by hand...
just give us this very simple option :)
