Removing VM snapshot Details: The ope
Removing VM snapshot Details: The operation has timed out
We get this warning fairly regularly on some of our larger vms. Looking at the vm the snapshot does remove fine, is there anyway to increase the window that veeam waits for before creating a warning as it then generates a support ticket each time.

Hi Chris, try to increase the following value:
Code: Select all
RemoveSnapshotTimeout
Type: REG_DWORD
Default value: 60*60*1000 // 1 hour (milliseconds)

Where is that? Can't find it in registry, so I guess I can just add it to hklm\software\veeam\veeam backup and replication?

Correct, all our regkeys should be added there (unless stated otherwise).

Re: Removing VM snapshot Details: The ope
Hey Vladimir,
is the default value for the timeout still the same?
I have the same behavior when I backup our vCenter server - we get the message "Removing VM snapshot... (3% done)" with a warning, but in the morning, the snapshot is removed sucessfully. According to the job report, the step needs under 2 minutes to finish, so I think this should not be the timeout of 1 hour that is causing the error.
Thanks,
Tobias

Hi Tobias, if you see this message just after a couple of minutes after snapshot commit starts, then this is definitely something else, so please contact technical support.
