Managing Free Space for Backups

Post by pab »

Hello everyone,

i recently went into an anoying problem regarding free space for backups.

i'm using a qnap nas for backup destination.
the problem is that is goes offline when full.
the backups, and more important the VMs, are left in an unstable state, and i usually have to reboot my esxi.

is there a way to tell veeam NOT to use more than xxx TB data for a given Job or destination?

thanks for help

Hi, no there is no such ability, however the job start sending warning when there is less than 10% of disk space left, giving you a chance to react. Thanks.

Stop jobs when almost no space left

Hi,
Today i got a bad surprise when one of my jobs filled up a CIFS share and finally crashed. The bad news is that the backup is now corrupted maybe beacause the CIFS server hasn't told veeam that the share was full but anyway it would be a GREAT thing to add a space left limit that stop backup jobs and also avoid jobs starting.
