Temperature alarm with shutdown action

Anyone know if it would be possible to:

1. Create a temperature alert (condition too hot)
2. Have it first shut down virtual machines
3. Then shut down the ESX boxes
4. Maybe even shut down the SAN?

Just wondering, I would like to set something like this up, figured someone on here might have already done it.

Hi Chad,

I would suggest you to use hardware sensor alarms for that, but unfortunately we do not make any differentiation between the sensors, as these sensors may vary a lot from host to host.

To workaround that you could pick any other alarm that would be triggered when the temperature goes up and configure post alarm action to Power Off all running VMs and then shutdown the host.
