Free edition of Agent. v 5.0.3.4708.
This is a somewhat weird issue, but the thing is that when trying to select folders and subfolders within a drives tree, I am unable to see it.
I guess a picture is better than a thousand words..
As you can see the graphics looks a bit weird and I am not able to "open" the drives to find subfolders, no matter where I click.
The "EXTSG5TB" has some folders selected I think and that is why you see those two small black "things" inside the sqare.
Ideas anyone?

I just tried this on my Windows 11 laptop and using Volume level backup, and I can select the boxes as needed without issues. Not sure maybe try rebooting and then repair the Agent? Not sure what to suggest, as the graphics do look off. What version of Windows are you using?

Also go back and try picking File Level backup - then you can expand drives. Volume backup is just the drives you want to back up.

I rebooted and changed to File Level Backup.
I now are able to (barely) browse subfolders (thank you!), the graphics looks weird though still and its hard to tell which folders are selected and which are not. :/

Please check your DPI settings.
Looks to me that they are higher than 150%

Have you updated your graphic card drivers? A dumb question I know but have seen this happen before.

If it's still not working with 100% (and a reboot after changing DPI), please open case with our support team. -->

If you don't want to open a support case or it gets closed because of too much load (free products gets only support on best effort), you can try to ask our members in the community Hub:
