Backup copy job only creates VIB files

Hi everyone,

I am struggling with a problem for some time and cannot find a way to solve it.

I am making a daily incremental backup on a local NAS with a synthetic full backup every Friday.

I also have a backup copy for this job over a remote connection, so far so good.

Now my problem is that the remote backup job only get the incremental files (VIB) and not the resulting VBK from the weekly synthetic backups.

On one side I have weekly VBKs with their corresponding VIBs for the week and on the remote side I have one VBK (The original one) with hundreds of VIB files.

My question is, is there a way for the backup copy job to get the weekly VBKs as well as the original backup ?

I don't want to be in a need to restore a backup from a remote location parsing hundreds of incremental files.

Maybe I am missing something in the configuration but honestly I cannot find the answer.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Backup Copy jobs have their own backup chain.
It's not a exact copy of the backup files from your backup job.

If you want to have a weekly full backup files instead of 1 full backup and hundreds of incremental files on your backup copy, you must configure GFS settings in the backup copy job. Without GFS retention your job uses a Forever Forward Incremental Backup (just 1 VBK and many incremental)
