Will VBSF work with the new Salesforce Integration User license or is a full user license required?

Hello @JonahM , good question!

VBSF does not have any restriction on the product side, however, things can be limited by Salesforce itself.
While I have not done extensive testing yet, some things appear right away. For example, this quote below means that the Integration user should not be able to query files created by other users and that means no backup for attachments/content versions, etc.

Can't assign permission set Queue All Files to user Integration User. The user license doesn't allow App Permissions

Plus this license type, according to the post, does not remove any application-specific license need, like CPQ or Field Service.

And now I have tried and it doesn't work at all - APIs are limited . So the answer is definitely - NO
