Restore VM

Post by handian.sudianto »

Hello,

It's possible to restore the VM if we only have full backup file (.vbk) only?

Hello,
yes, the VBK file allows all types of restores including VM restores.

Just import it and you are good to go.

Hello,

Just to make sure for restoration VM the file .vbm is not mandatory needed? So if i want to restore in the future, i can install a new veeam server and import the .vbk file. Am i right?

Hello,
having a VBM is a good idea in general. It gives you more options around incremental backups. If you have the VBM, then I would always use the VBM.

As you are asking what I already stated above... did you see any issues? If yes, what's the support case number?

Best regards,
Hannes

Hello,
ah okay. Sounds like "export backup" would be easier than doing manual copy operations.

Best regards,
Hannes
