RBAC split VMs and endpoints?

Post by SSSSSStorage »

Hi There,

is it possible to split out Roll Based Access Control so we can have VM operators and a separate collection of Windows/linux/mac endpoint operators?. Ideally we would like to enable our Helpdesk to have access to Veeam to conduct backup/restores of endpoints, but not have any access to Virtual Machines. currently if we need to enable restore permission to a helpdesk user for a laptop, they also have the ability to restore and overwrite a production virtual machine....

It would be great if there was a way to formally control this level of access. unless there are any other ideas on how to split this across another backup server perhaps?

Thoughts welcome!

Hello,
I assume that the question is about Enterprise Manager. Yes, one can split permissions here via protection groups / machines in the "roles" configuration.

Best regards,

ah ok, i was actually referring to using the VBR console, but I shall take a look at the Enterprise Manager and see what is possible. Cheers,
