Same bucket for 2 jobs, with different folders - Is it possible?

Hello everyone,

When we started using Object Storage on our repositories, I remember that I gave some orientations to my team to use one bucket per repository, and I didn't find out why I assumed that. Maybe it was my thoughts, or I am just crazy, so I will ask just to make sure.

Today we have the following structure:

Job A -> Repository A -> Object Storage Repository A -> bucket-a -> Folder-A
Job B -> Repository B -> Object Storage Repository B -> bucket-b -> Folder-B

My question is if we can use the same bucket, but different folders, like this:

Job A -> Repository A -> Object Storage Repository A -> bucket-1 -> Folder-A
Job B -> Repository B -> Object Storage Repository B -> bucket-1 -> Folder-B

And if yes, do we have any pros or cons of doing that?

There are no technical limitations - you can perfectly use different folders in the same bucket.

Why just not create 2 buckets ? That is not a lot of work to do and to manage and will lower your fault domain and give you more flexibility for whatever comes.
