Connect FC tapedrive for netapp ndmp
I have an fc connected tape library to my veeam server and uses it for exporting backups. Now I want to start take ndpm backups from my Netapp storage and someone told me that netapp storage and tape library must be connected to the same fc fabric/switch. Is that really correct?

Re: Connect FC tapedrive for netapp ndmp
Hi Hakan
Direct NDMP backup from Storage Controller to Tape over FC is not possible with Veeam.
A Veeam Gateway Server will connect to the NetApp appliance NetApp over the IP address and reads the data. The data is then send to the tape server. Gateway and Tape Server can be the same machine.
The Tape library must be accessible by the Tape Server.
Traffic flow for NDMP:
- Storage appliance > Veeam Gateway Server > Veeam Tape Server > Tape.
Best,
Fabian
