New Mailbox backup Issue?
Started getting new error last night.
Processing mailbox *** failed with error: Unable to process the Exchange Web Services item.. Invalid serialized stream, unknown opcode found: 4
Started with one mailbox then moved to 2 boxes and has stayed that way for every backup since.
Only happening on one of the many installs we manage.
Wondering if Microsoft added another unknown object type...

I am also seeing the same issue since this morning, case no. 07081770. It is getting worse, started with 2 mailboxes failing and the latest run has 14 failures.

Good to know I am not alone. At this point I will just let the existing tickets work on the issue instead of adding to the problem.
For reference it has now jumped to 4 mailboxes at the one client and I am on the latest build From December.

Thanks for letting us know gentleman. At this point in time I don't see anything in my own environments, but we will get more information quickly I think once QA have checked all of their environments

This occured in our environment as well.
Everything went fine yesterday, today I got a warning mail with this error.
7 mailboxed are affected, all of the other mailboxes are fine as well as OneDrive & Web-elements.

...after running some mailbox backups again I noticed that the error has gone away. Maybe Microsoft has recalled some changes? Backup is now running fine without errors... Anyone else noticed that?

yeah same here, got several tenants with this issue, even 5 retries with 5 minute interval kept failing.

Looks like it is working again, but the first run was much longer and backsup much more data then expected. Let us see how it works in the next few days.

All,
As some of you are already aware. Tests on our side where we see it indeed shows that a retry will fix the issue. Our support team should be contacting everyone with a case now (but we have already a lot of these cases) and ask to test a retry. It seems to be solving the issue. For now, we have no response from MSFT on the topic though.

I also see mailbox backups working again. All of the backups beginning at 8:45 PM PST last night have worked successfully for us.

Two days ago we had (for the first time) this issue with a single customer backup job.
This night the problem recurred on other multiple backup jobs from other customers (but no longer on the first one...).

Last time, a job retry automatically solved the issue in all cases.

I've just tried again, but nothing.... The issue seems to persist (on multiple different jobs, but only on some mailboxes, not all).
