I think the best starting point is to determine what infrastructure components you need in you all-in-one box and size it according to the system requirements documentation from the helpcenter.
As the Veeam server is virtual (i guess), future adjustments are pretty easy.

Hi Vmware2024,

We have a good article Infrastructure sizing with overview of how to size Veeam for your environment, including webinar Veeam Backup & Replication Sizing Best Practices.

The minimum recommendation system configuration for the backup server:
- 4 CPU cores
- 8 GB RAM for the backup server

Generally speaking, configuration requirements depend on size of your virtual environments:
- For all-in-one installation (Veeam B&R and all components are installed on a single machine) please keep in mind that each role will allocate 2 GB of memory resources. That also valid for Operating System itself.
- For repository installed together with Veeam B&R, keep in mind extra disk space required to store your backup data. It fully depends on the size of your data source and job retention. The raw estimate you can use: full backup is around 50% of your data size, while incremental restore point is 10% of your data size.
Also is the lastest version of Veeam B&R compatible with vCenter 8.03?
Full support of vSphere 8 U3 is planned for upcoming Veeam Backup & Replication 12.2.

Thank you!

Config will be based on the number of backup jobs, the number of VMs, GBs/TBs being backed up initially then churn, and the destination setup along with the fabric in between.
