exFat no more supported as target

Post by azpets »

According to this page
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/rn/veeam_a ... notes.html
exFAT file system is no longer supported as a backup target, please change your backup job settings accordingly.
This automatically cuts out (without reformatting or converting) any out of the box hard drive/SSD usb and thunderbolt.
This also will stop existing backup procedure that involves USB-thunderbolt drives from working. Update software will break procedures already working since operation 0 after update.

There's a reason for that (I'd like to know which is, please) and it's quite... breaking the legacy big time, due to the fact that's... no major version, no minor version, but a bugfix version.

It's slightly suboptimal the communication about this feature removal. And I'd love to tell that's not the best way to allow adoption grow.

Hi A.Z. SRL
breaking the legacy big time, due to the fact that's... no major version, no minor version, but a bugfix version.
Please note that exFAT support was removed over 2 years ago in v6.0, which is of course a major version.
You can find this information in our release notes for v6.0: https://www.veeam.com/veeam_agent_windo ... tes_rn.pdf

Thanks,
