Veeam.Backup.RestAPIService.exe high memory usage

Hi,

We noticed that the Veeam.Backup.RestAPIService.exe process consistently uses around 1.2 GB of memory on all our managed V12.3 VBR servers. This seems quite high for such a relatively small service. The memory usage does not increase over time; instead, after a restart or start, it quickly climbs to this level and then remains stable. Could you explain why the memory consumption is reasonably this high?

The API Service in two of my labs is consuming 950MB and 1.2GB, respectively.
I can start a discussion with our QA team to find out what’s happening in the background and why it requires 1-1.5GB, but this will take time due to the upcoming v13 release.

If you feel that 1.2GB is too much, please feel free to open a case with our customer support so they can investigate the logs from your backup server.

Seems to be a known issue and is scheduled to be fixed in v13.

This behavior is a known issue in the current version (12.3.2.3617), where Veeam.Backup.RestAPIService.exe may consume over 1GB of RAM, even when idle. Our R&D team has confirmed this and is actively working on a fix, which is scheduled to be included in the upcoming version 13 of Veeam Backup & Replication. At this time, there is no documented workaround available.

It's only on some tight machines we noticed it's preferred to free up that extra 1GB of RAM, not a big issue do. We will wait to v13.
