[V13] NetApp Storage Integration

Hi,

Is it correct that with version 13 it's not possible to do a Backup from Storage Snapshots with a NetApp ontap system? When i add a ONTAP within the storage infrastructure i only have the option for "NAS Filler". I don't understand why i can't pick "Baclok or file storage for VMware vSphere" like in version 12.3.

Can somebody explain it

Hi Erwin, it is correct, v13 only supports NAS Backup for NetApp ONTAP.

When installable software for Windows is available with v13.0.1, it will have VM backup as well, as before.

Veeam Software Appliance requires USAPI plug-ins to be updated to USAPI 2.1 in order to be able to run on Linux. This is something NetApp is already working on but there are no timelines yet.

With release 13.0.1.180 of the VSA the same is still in place?
Does this mean that i need to add a Windows Proxy Node to do the NetApp storage intergration?

Hi Erwin, you need a Windows-based VBR server to use storage integration for VM backup.

As mentioned above, this needs to be implemented by NetApp in a separate USAPI 2.1 plug-in, which is currently in the works.
