Hi Team,
As per info from tech support on case #08013831 , we are posting questions in this forum amazon-web-services-f55/
1) Let say currently we have all backup in S3 Singapore region, and would like to have it replicated to S3 in other region Tokyo.
- Can you please advice how we can configure the VBAWS to handle that replication?
- Or do we just create bucket using the guide on https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbaws ... tml?ver=10 and then enable cross region S3 replication using the AWS guide on https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/la ... ation.html ?
- Is there special IAM to be applied there when enabling S3 replication to different regions?
- What about the EBS and S3 encryption? Is there certain setting required to make the encryption working across AWS region?
2) We also saw "the 3-2-1 rule" guide on VBR doc on https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/vbr/u ... tml?ver=13 , can you please if that doc applicable to VBAWS?
- If yes, what are the specific steps we need to perform there to configure "VBR backup copy" on VBAWS?
- If no, can you please advice how and what the recommended way is to implement "backup copy" on VBAWS?
Thank you.

Re: Questions on cross-region replication of VBAWS backup data from one AWS region to another region for data availabili
Hi Felix,
1. We don't have a S3 replication logic in VB for AWS. If you replicate data between S3 buckets using native replication, you can normally import the second bucket in case of a disaster into VB for AWS and perform restores. However, it is important that you only do this in case of an issue because VB for AWS will take ownership of the specific repository (S3 bucket).
2. You can use VBR to perform backup copy jobs as described in our user guide.
