Automatic closing of restore window

Post by robnicholsonmalt »

Allied question to one before about restore and using 3rd party tools like robocopy - I'm aware that the restore window closes after a certain period of activity. That's fine when you using the restore window itself to do the restore. But what happens if you're using the restore window just to get the mounted volume and you then run robocopy for a long time? Will the restore window still close and shutdown the mounted volume? Is this somewhere where I should be looking at the PowerShell cmdlets? Never done much with them and Veeam.

Hi robnicholsonmalt,

The automated window close out is based on inactivity and would thus be affected to best of my knowledge. The auto-close can be configured with a configuration parameter.

Powershell may help here, but also consider Disk Publishing to mount the disks for robocopy without the FLR window timeout, I think this better meets your needs.
