Veeam Backup to Azure BLOB Storage and extract with Storage Explorer?

Post by enoch »

Hi all,

I've created a storage account at Microsoft and enabled versioning and Immutable on the SA/Container.

Added the storage in Veeam with Immutable enabled and made a Backup Job to backup with encryption key - so far so good.

I would like to have the possibility to connect to Microsoft Azure from specified Public endpoints to the Storage Account to be able to download the Veeam files (.VBKs) to have an offsite recovery solution with Veeam Extraction Tool.

If I connect with Storage Explorer I see the container and lots of folders, but can't really find the .VBKs and thereby not able to download the .VBKs for offsite usage.

Is this not possible or do I need to change setup regarding versioning/immutable?

Or do I really need to install a VBR solution offsite and connect and restore through that solution?

There no VBK files on Object Storage Repositories, you need to connect from a VBR and rescan your bucket.
